Katie’s mom ran a small agency in NC, where Katie spent many an afternoon in the 80’s “pretending” to work there--answering the phones, raiding the art room supplies, abusing the xerox machine. As a teen, she ran errands and even dabbled in copywriting.

Years later in NYC, it was only fitting that she sought out inspired creatives and tight-knit cultures. Lucky for her, she met Britta Larsen who hired her for her first NYC agency position in 2006. Then hired her again in 2010. And again in 2018--this time to help her with her newly launched HR consultancy.

Over the years, Katie has held several agency roles. She started as an Executive Assistant, was promoted into Project Management and Production, then moved into Account Management. Until her recent move into HR, she was heading up Client Services and leading multi-disciplinary teams on major brands and campaigns.

Regardless of the role, Katie’s philosophy has always been to put relationships first. Whether she was working with a founder, a client, a vendor, an intern, an agent, or an employee—she put the emphasis on communication, understanding, and empathy. Now, she leverages that philosophy, and her perspective from different roles, to help companies improve their internal relationships and dynamics.

Katie also loves brands. She’s been lucky enough to work on some great ones, alongside phenomenal creatives and strategists. Now, at It’s Britta, she enjoys strengthening internal ‘employer brands’ and helping companies realize their ambitions and values, through the employee journey.
